The Company was founded in 2003 by a core team with decades of experience designing, developing & delivering Carrier Class software solutions for leading telecoms solution providers.

Amartus is a privately owned company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland. Our extensive product development and consulting experience combined with our real world experience in Telecom's Software Systems enables us to identify and solve our clients' problems quickly and successfully.

Our Management Team

Michael Kearns - Chief Executive Officer

Michael Kearns is a senior manager with over 15 years experience working in the software industry. Prior to founding Amartus in 2003, Michael lead the Product Strategy team at Marconi Communications Ireland (formerly FORE System and Euristix) and had overall responsibility for its multi-service broadband Network Management Solution. Michael came to this role as a Principal Engineer with key technical responsibility for architecture and design. Prior to 1996 Michael worked for a number of top software companies in the US, UK and Ireland. Michael graduated from University College Dublin in 1992 with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science

Richard Meade - Chief Operating Officer

Richard Meade is a senior manager with a strong track record of delivering multi-platform software solutions. Richard has over 15 years experience building systems to provide the telecoms industry with information to allow them make decisions in real time. Priot to founding Amartus he worked as Engineering Manager in Marconi / FORE Systems for a number of years. Richard graduated from University College Dublin in 1992 with a BSc (Joint Hons) in Mathematics & Computer Science

Maurizio Sturlesi - Chief Technology Officer

Maurizio Sturlesi is a senior manager and software architect with a proven track record in software development and consulting. Maurizio has over 12 years experience delivering complex telecoms software solutions for leading solutions providers. Prior to joining Amartus, Maurizio was Consulting Manager & Senior Consultant with Orbism Ltd, a leading Irish consultancy firm in emerging technologies. There he worked closely with the CEO on new business development and played a key role in technical analysis & delivery of software solutions to clients. Prior to Orbism, Maurizio was employed with Marconi Ireland, where he worked with Michael and Richard for several years. In Marconi, Maurizio held several senior technical positions, including the technical leadership of their Network Management Alarm Manager Component. Maurizio graduated in 1995 from the University of Milan with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science

Our Non-Executive Team

Bryan Alton - Chairman

Bryan has spent his career in the technology sector in key leadership positions at some of the Ireland's most successful companies. He is renowned for his outstanding strategic abilities, strong operational focus and deep technical insight. Bryan was a founder and director of Eurisix, a 150 strong company that developed world class software solutions for telecommunications. Euristix was acquired by FORE Systems in 1999.

Pat Stuart - Director

Pat has over 20 years experience in the software development industry including 10 years at executive leadership level. He is currently an investor in a number of key technology start-ups including Amartus. Pat has had experience of being CEO at Headway Software, a software development tools provider, and at Corvil Networks, a telecommunications software company, both based in Dublin. From 1991 to 1999 Pat was a board member and VP Engineering at Euristix, a telecommunications software product and services solution provider. Euristix was sold to FORE Systems in February 1999. Prior to this Pat held a variety of roles at DCA (Ireland), Westinghouse (Ireland) and Philips (Netherlands). Pat holds a Masters of Engineering in Computer Science (1990) and an MBA (1998).

Dr Jim Mountjoy - Investor

Dr Mountjoy is a well-known and respected figure in the international software industry. Best known for founding Irish software firm Euristix, Dr Mountjoy was also a co-founder of Baltimore Technologies. As an innovative supplier of advanced network management solutions, Euristix, under Dr Mountjoy's leadership, became a market leader with a customer list including such blue chip companies as Cisco, Tellabs, Motorola, Alcatel, IBM and HP. Euristix was sold to FORE Systems in February 1999. Dr Mountjoy now brings his experience to a number of non-executive roles with high-tech companies and is also a Board member of Science Foundation Ireland.
